Understanding WA's 2024-25 heatwave

Experts met on the 12th August in a symposium coordinated by the DBCA and AIMS to discuss the causes and consequences of WA's recent marine heatwave. This was WA's most severe recorded bleaching event, with a high proportion of reefs and corals experiencing heat damage. Kelp, seagrass, and other habitats were also affected.
